Young Blood

Folks, Obama said he was all for change. It seems that he has had an impact in Washington already. Democratic Sen. Robert C. Byrd, of West Virginia, announced that he will step down as chairman of the all-powerful Appropriations Committee. The 90 year old senator will be replaced by a younger, stronger, more energetic senator. Yes, fellow Democratic Sen. Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii, who at 84 is more than six years younger than Sen. Byrd, is expected to replace him as chairman.

I guess that this… Continue

Recriminations

The campaign hasn't even issued its final paychecks, and already the tongues are wagging faster than a husky's whilst pulling a sledge across dry ground.

First of all, to set the record straight:

As to the allegation that Sarah didn't know that Africa was a continent: staffers in this campaign should not be discussing continence.

Election

Nation, I knew that Americans might actually get up off of their Ben & Jerry inflated asses for this election, since it is such an historic election--the first Republican woman (and the first hot babe) running for Vice-President. I knew that the polls might be crowded: that's why I decided to "camp out, " in the vernacular of the many new "Joes" joining the party.

This morning I told Jeffrey (my manservant) that I wished to camp out early at my polling place, in order to be first in… Continue

Daylight Savings?

My friends, what is the point of gaining an extra hour, if everyone else gets one, too? That seems rather socialistic to me. Also, why can't I choose when I get my hour? Why must I get it at an appointed day? Whatever happened to choice? Just like Democrats to take away choice.

I want to decide when I get my extra hour. I would like to have an extra hour during a game of chess at the club, when I can't decide upon which pawn to move forward first ( I do so love moving pawns--it's… Continue

Guest Mail

Folks,
Here's a letter that I received. I couldn't have stated the facts more eloquently than if I had written it myself.

"Dear Mr. Librarian:

My name is Derrick. I'm an unlicensed crane operator here in New York City (but I live in Jersey). I'm against Obama's socialist scheme to redistribute the wealth. Why? Even though Obama's plan would likely help me now, I've been playing Mega Millions for a few years now--which means that I'm due to win. Once I have my millions, I don't want to p… Continue
